Sunetra SarkerRaised in England by parents who had come from India, Sunetra Sarker quickly became an actress of two worlds as she explored and embraced her rich multicultural heritage. She first rose to fame as a teenager, playing Nisha Batra in the cult soap Brookside. Over the ensuing three decades, Sunetra has acted in BBC and Amazon Prime productions, becoming a BAFTA member and a stalwart of British television.
Recently, she has filmed a new role in the second series of The Bay for ITV, and is currently filming the fourth series of the hit drama Ackley Bridge, for which she has received significant praise for her pioneering role of Kanees.
