Townsend Society of America

The Townsend Society was founded in 1962 and we are a surname based family history society that researches and helps both members and non-members discover which Townsend family they belong to. We offer in-depth help on our website and through our genealogist. Our 400 member society spans the United States, includes members in Canada, and several overseas. We also support a TownsendDNA project at FTDNA which has proved invaluable at identifying and differentiating the many Townsend families that migrated to America.
