Utah Genealogical Association and Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy
The Utah Genealogical Association (UGA) is a worldwide, education-oriented society whose purpose is to help genealogists of all backgrounds—beginner to advanced—become more skilled, confident researchers. UGA provides premier genealogy education designed to help members achieve their goals and overcome research challenges, offering monthly webinars, a DNA Special Interest Group, the annual Summit of Excellence conference, and its publication Crossroads as key parts of that mission. The Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy (SLIG) is UGA’s premier educational program and extends this purpose through in-depth, institute-style instruction. SLIG offers intermediate to advanced courses on a wide range of genealogical topics through its January institute in Salt Lake City as well as Fall and Spring virtual programs, providing intensive learning, professional-level skill development, and rich networking opportunities. Together, UGA and SLIG work to elevate genealogical research standards and support lifelong learning for family historians around the world.
