Who’s Your Mob? Developing a Program for Demystifying Australian First Nations Family History

In 2022, the State Library of Queensland introduced a comprehensive program relating to Australian First Nations family history, featuring in-person workshops, videos, and online resources, all aimed at simplifying and clarifying the process. Think of it as a step-by-step guide for First Nations individuals to kickstart their family history research. This presentation will explain how we developed this program, explore the obstacles we encountered during resource creation, and highlight the essential elements incorporated to ensure that these resources are accessible and pertinent to First Nations communities in Australia, particularly those in Queensland.
