Bret WeekesBret Weekes serves as the Director of Technology at FamilySearch International. He is responsible for overseeing engineering, software development, and its standards and associated technologies and processes.
Bret is an experienced business leader, having been a CEO for 25 years in the Financial Technology (FinTech) sector before joining the Family History Department. Bret holds a Management Information Systems degree and an MBA, with specialization in Marketing and Consumer Behavior, from the University of Liverpool. He has served in various church assignments, most recently as a Mission Leader from 2020-2023 in the Oregon Eugene Mission.
Bret was born in Provo, Utah and married Angela Wright in 1988. They are the parents of seven children and are delighted to have five grandchildren. He enjoys sports of all kinds, skiing, and hiking with his family and grandchildren.
