Portuguese Roots in the Western United States and Hawaii

Learn about the national, state, local, and social sources that identify an immigrant ancestor’s hometown and how to access the records. Examples will include both digital collections and archival collections that must be visited in person. The class will end with a case study detailing how a combination of the records can be used to trace an elusive ancestor across the ocean.
