James Longstaff

James has a bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from Brigham Young University. He lived in the Middle East for many years. He's been a FamilySearch employee on the Authorities Team at FamilySearch since 2022. The Authorities Team is responsible for maintaining the FamilySearch Places database. The FamilySearch Places database allows FamilySearch to catalogue records by country, province, or village. This service also makes records and genealogies searchable by location. The Authorities team works on improving the standardized places data across the entire world.
