Raised on a U.S. Navy base away from her extended family, Julie learned early on that identity is deeply rooted in knowing where we come from. Julie has spent the past 12 years employed by AncestryProGenealogists, where she regularly untangles complex family trees for high-profile media projects and clients. Julie holds her credentials as an Accredited Genealogist® in the Mid-South United States, with specialized expertise in African American research, formidable Southern brick walls, LDS Pioneer, and Scandinavian lineages. An accomplished educator and speaker, Julie is a frequent lecturer at local and national conferences, previously served as a museum director—earning the DAR National Historic Preservation Award—and spent five years as an advanced trainer and researcher for FamilySearch.
