Professional Genealogist
Karen Molohon, MS, MSEdKaren Molohon, MS, is an experienced genealogist with expertise in researching, lecturing, organizational leadership, and teaching. She currently serves as Vice President for Society & Organization Management at the National Genealogical Society (NGS), immediate past chair of the NGS Delegate Council Steering Committee, NGS Delegate and webmaster for the Cobb County Genealogical Society, and genealogy instructor for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Kennesaw State University. Her past leadership roles include Director of the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research (IGHR), President of both the Cobb County Genealogical Society and the Georgia Genealogical Society, as well as service on the NGS 2024 Nominating Committee. Karen is also a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG), the Illinois State Genealogical Society (ISGS), Kentucky Genealogical Society, Virginia Genealogical Society, and the Fielding Lewis Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). A retired information designer and project manager for an international airline telecommunications company, Karen holds a BA in Psychology and an MS in Educational Psychology & Guidance from Eastern Illinois University, as well as an MS in Technical and Professional Communication from Southern Polytechnic State University (now part of Kennesaw State University). She actively continues her professional development through regular attendance at genealogy institutes.
