Discovering your ancestors location, is an important part of building your family tree. Location effects the research you do in so many ways and is often problematic, due to the many pivotal points of life, from birth to burial, that it impacts. This talk will take you on a journey through time and discuss the differences between periods for recording this information. Discussing pitfalls within records and best practices for recording information. Seeing how similar sounding place names, are often mixed up, with how Counties and Countries can wrongly be assigned. How areas are recorded differently, depending on the record set. Plus, seeing how transcription errors, both human and AI, affect results and how location errors can create wrong connections and tree errors. Containing ideas and clues on how to find where ancestors are from and recording their journeys by creating a map of their lives using locations. Helping you create a full and accurate tree.
