Typical German? - Historical German costumes to support your family history

Today the Bavarian costume is regarded to the THE representative dress for Germany. In fact Germany is a very diverse country in terms of ethology and historical and traditional costumes. These costumes, even parts of these are very characteristic and linkes to a particular region. Therefore, they can be uses as a local or regional marker. The subject is difficult and controversially discussed amongst scientists. During the presentation some general remarks guide into the subject, which will be in detail explained. The Minden area in North Rhine-Westphalia will be presented as an example to show the diversity of historical costumes. The presentation will be supported by historical and recent photos.
