Gonzalo Alexis Luengo Orellana

Gonzalo Alexis Luengo Orellana (Chillán, Chile, 1987), Teacherof English graduated from Universidad del Bío-Bío. He started his teaching career in 2011 in Bulnes, Chile, working with children from kindergarten through eighth grade. Gonzalo develops, at the same time, a special ability as a professional genealogist, that is, a person who guides to find through documents and other resources, the history of their ancestors.

Gonzalo is the author of http://genesdefamilia.blogspot.com, where he is dedicated to helping anyone understand how to make their family tree. He regularly makes videos with tutorials, interviews with people from noble families to researchers, and tours through archives and libraries. He has published a book on the subject, "La familia Hojas de Burgos", which reflects his interest in the study of the immigrant families of the 19th century.

He has given dozens of talks and clients have taken him to do research in person in Chile, Peru and Spain, as well as many other places in the world using technology. Throughout his years of experience, he has appeared in national media and prominent specialized publications, such as the reunion with relatives through DNA tests or an investigation of the messages sent on Twitter during the 2010 Chile earthquake. .

Currently, in 2022, he works at the Evarista Ogalde Ortega School in Tres Esquinas, Bulnes, Chile, and is a volunteer at at the Chillán Stake Family History Center. He attended the Genealogy, Nobility and Heraldry Diploma program at the Spanish Institute of Noble Studies and is part of the genealogist staff of the Origenes project. He is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, a member of the Chilean Institute for Genealogical Research, a member of the Ñuble Genealogical and Historical Research Institute and the Chilean chapter of the Wikimedia Foundation.
