Professional Genealogist
Susana Leniski, AGSusana Leniski was born and raised in Mexico City. She studied International Business and Financial Markets at Universidad Metropolitana in Mexico City. Afterward, she worked for several U.S.-based companies in Mexico and the U.S. She has lived in New York, Philadelphia, St. Louis, and now resides in Seattle. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she is bicultural and holds dual citizenship in Mexico and the United States.
Susana's family background shapes her research focus on Mexico and Spain from the late 1900s to the 1500s. She has successfully traced some family lines back to the 1600s across different regions of Mexico, including the old Nueva Galicia and central and northern Mexico. Her research also covers Spain, specifically the Basque Country, Catalonia, and Andalusia, with records dating to the 1500s. Susana has served as a board member and instructor at the Los Bexareños Genealogical and Historical Society in San Antonio, Texas, and has held positions such as treasurer and board member for the Jewish Genealogical Society of Washington State (JGSWS).
In 2005, Susana was invited to present at the Family History Expo in Redmond, Washington, marking her first appearance. She delivered many more lectures over the years, including a guest lecture at the 42nd Annual Texas Hispanic Genealogical and Historical Conference in 2022. In 2026, she also presented two classes as a guest speaker at RootsTech, the International Genealogical Conference held in Salt Lake City.
In 2024, she attained the designation of Accredited GenealogistⓇ professional and currently holds credentials for genealogy research through the International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists (ICAPGen). Her area of expertise is focused on Mexico.
