DNA Swim School – Part 3: Swimming Toward Your Ancestors

In DNA Swim School Part 3, you’re ready to go beyond grouping matches—you want to figure out how they’re related to each other and to you. But what if your match network feels incomplete or unclear? This session is all about what to do when the simple path doesn’t appear. You’ll learn how to take stock of what you do know, test hypotheses using tools like Shared Matches of Matches (SMoMs) and WATO (What Are the Odds?), and follow a process to move forward even when your network isn’t perfectly connected. This class is for anyone ready to use DNA evidence to figure out how they’re related to specific matches—and identify unknown ancestors—even when the match list doesn’t make it easy.
