Genealogy Compass. Navigate to find available records when and where your ancestor lived
A common mistake we all have made is trying to search for our ancestors in a record type that did not exist at the time our ancestors lived. Having a basic knowledge of record collections created from the Colonial Era up to the 1950 census and what types of information they contain can be invaluable in formulating a methodology or research plan for our genealogy question. This class will help you to understand record groups for certain time frames, what you will find when you get there and some case studies on how to understand these source documents.
