The stories of our ancestors who left home to start over in a new city or country comprise much more than ship manifests and census reports. Using examples from Dutch, German, and Southern migration to the U.S. Great Lakes region, learn how to discover and understand the cultural and local context of the communities your ancestors helped build, and how to narrate stories with a depth of historical perspective and emotional connection.
