Karina Satomi, MA

Third-generation Brazilian-Okinawan, researcher, and active member of the Okinawan community and its institutions. My work focuses on Okinawan history and Okinawan immigration to Latin America. I lecture on historical and contemporary topics related to Okinawa and assist individuals in reconnecting with their Okinawan heritage through archival research and genealogical documentation. I also promote knowledge of Okinawan history and culture by creating educational content on social media.
