Normand Charbonneau, Deputy Librarian and Archivist of Canada (retired)

Now retired, Normand Charbonneau has been working at Library and Archives Canada since 2015 as Deputy Librarian and Archivist of Canada and Chief Operating Officer. He was the Vice-President Programme of the International Council on Archives from 2016 to 2021. He started his career as records manager in different Canadian organizations before becoming an archivist at the Archives nationales du Québec in 1990 where he held various responsibilities ending in his nomination as Québec National Archivist. He played multiple roles in national and international professional associations.
