Using the General Register Office (GRO) Indexes for Post-1837 England and Wales Research
If you have ever done a search for your English or Welsh ancestor on FamilySearch or Ancestry, you have probably discovered someone in the birth or death indexes that you think might be your ancestor. But how can you be sure? This session will cover five ways you can use the General Register Office (GRO) Indexes to further your research. These include discovering or verifying maiden names, untangling remarriages, and finding missing children who were born and who died in between census years.
