Family History Worldwide Support

Our FamilySearch Support missionaries participate in multiple activities that support FamilySearch.org as we enable inspiring journeys that bring joy to all people as they discover, gather, and connect their family—past, present, and future. As a missionary, you will learn new skills, increase your knowledge of family history, and develop relationships.

Responsibilities
Our service missionaries participate in a variety of activities including:

  • Providing professional assistance and guidance to FamilySearch patrons through email, chats, or phone calls.
  • Assisting with a variety of family history projects that help prepare records to be indexed and published on FamilySearch.org.
  • Receiving foundational and specialty training in areas of focus (such as indexing, patron support, Family Tree, FamilySearch sign-in, record and image audits, FamilySearch places, and so on).
  • As a FamilySearch Operations missionary, you will be assigned to a group which will facilitate training, devotionals, and connections with other missionaries.
Qualifications
Our service missionaries are temple-worthy and will have:
  • Intermediate skills in the use of Family Tree and other resources on the FamilySearch website
  • Intermediate computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, email, presentation software, etc.)
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A willingness to work on a team
  • Smart phone for 2-step verification
Help Needed outside of the United States and Canada: Currently, FamilySearch has a need for service missionaries who have a good working knowledge of FamilySearch Family Tree and FamilySearch Memories, at a minimum, to help FamilySearch patrons in their home countries.
