Help Build the FamilySearch Family Tree

Virtual Records Operation Center

DESCRIPTION

A Virtual Records Operation Center (VROC) Missionary has the opportunity to participate in multiple activities that support FamilySearch and provide inspiring journeys that bring joy to all people as they discover, gather, and connect their family—past, present, and future. Our North America missionaries live in the United States and Canada and serve from home. VROC opportunities are also available in Northern Europe and Latin America.
As a VROC missionary, you will have the opportunity to learn new skills, increase your knowledge of family history, develop relationships, and serve your brothers and sisters on both sides of the veil.

VIRTUAL RECORDS OPERATION CENTER

The VROC is staffed by service missionaries who serve from their own home and provide their own computer and internet. Currently, about 1,900 missionaries serve in VROC assignments.

VROC PROJECTS

Missionaries serving in the VROC have opportunities to participate in projects that help build the FamilySearch Family Tree. Our overall purpose for these projects is to fulfill the mission of the Family History Department to unite families for eternity by nourishing the temples with names.

We accomplish this purpose by attaching record hints, adding names to the tree, merging duplicates, and adding new information to Family Tree, which can result in more record hints and resolving data conflicts.

If you feel this is for you, please fill in the contact form. If you live outside of the United States and Canada, please indicate that on the form.

Here is a video of one of our missionaries talking about her experience serving with VROC.
