Serve a Family History Mission
Discover the joy of helping people find their ancestors while serving a mission focused on family history.

What Do Family History Missionaries Do?
Family history missionaries serve the Lord by providing access to historical records, enabling inspiring journeys that bring joy to all people as they discover, gather, and connect their family—past, present, and future throughout the world. Family history missionaries can serve full-time or part-time: from home, in their community, or around the world.
Full-Time Senior Missionary Opportunities
A senior missionary typically serves 40 or more hours per week and usually lives away from home. We have many meaningful opportunities to serve around the world. Click this link to see videos of family history missionaries talking about their experiences serving away from home.

Senior Service Missionary Opportunities—From Home
Senior Service missionaries serve from home for a minimum of 8 hours a week (typically 12) for 12 months. Using the arrows, croll through the many opportunities we have for you to serve from your home.
Senior Service Missionary Opportunities—Close to Home
Senior Service missionaries live at home, work 8 to 40 hours per week, and serve in their local area for 6 to 24 months. Currently you can serve at our Church-operated FamilySearch Centers.
